A Sheriff For the Future of Tipton County
For nearly 19 years I have been preparing myself for the opportunity to serve the people of Tipton County as their Sheriff. I have dedicated my life to law enforcement and focused my efforts on making this county and our communities a safer place to raise our families. I have always believed in taking a personal approach in dealing with the needs of the public.
There are several key issues facing the future of Tipton County law enforcement. The most challenging of which is the battle against illegal drugs. Illegal narcotics precipitate many other crimes, such as those against persons and property. Drugs have become a national epidemic, crossing every socioeconomic barrier, and it impacts families everywhere. It demands a serious approach and as Sheriff, I will actively devote all available resources to deterring this behavior.
Other issues include expanding the personnel and service ability of the department to meet the growing needs of the county and address crime prevention. Also, we must retain our well qualified and trained employees by offering benefits similar to those of other local agencies and comparable to the demands of the job. Through fiscal responsibility and proper financial planning, I will strive to provide all the means necessary to accomplish these goals.
Crime is a serious matter and a threat to the security of our communities. With my extensive law enforcement training and experiences, combined with input from the community, together we can make Tipton County an even better and safer place to live. As Sheriff, I will be committed to establishing the standards for providing professional, quality law enforcement to all of the citizens of Tipton County.
I appreciate you taking the time to learn about my campaign and to review my qualifications. I am asking for your support and vote on August 3, 2006.
Thank you,

J.T. ‘Pancho’ Chumley
